Hi to everyone I will try to quickly cover all, from my experiences , with

bronch , asthma etc.

Sandie MD, yes I have heard and have a lot of data on the fungas. it is very

interesting , because that is also the same fungas that grows, things like mung

beans etc that are good to eat, used a lot in chinese foods and medicines ( the

fungus).

However the one thing that happens with the fungus it can grow to assist the

immune system. grownto be able to eat, but also let grow either not enough or

too much, can cause the harmful things similar to Cycla megla virus, and

norcardia.

So the reason you doc wasn t worried is probably because he had been doing

tests, cultures, and thats part of the culture.

If he bacame concerned he would check for heart problems and many other nasties,

that you must not appear to have.

Its very common fungus.

Now Singulair well that can be a very different story, singular is a preventer,

and its got aspartime, so many people are highly allergic to aspartime, its in

many substutes for sugar etc.

There are many other great preventers like atrovent, albutmeol etc. and many new

ones, that do assist you to be able to cut down on the over use of prednisone

etc.

But never come off anything unless you have something to replace it and with

doctor or pharmacy advice, in the case of having very nasty side effects etc.

I hope your pharmacist always gives you a fact sheet, so you can understand why

you are taking any med.

Janet, Sandie, my night sweats are resultes from several things and not just one

anymore. they cause horrendous spasms, and pain too.

I surely can agree there, they for me are an inflamation most times caused by

R/A , and fibromyalgia, also horemonal.

They are much alleviated when using regular fish oils and evening primrose oil(

combined) but have had to cut down on them while being in a trial, cannot wait

to get back on them.

They are also part of the respitory system, but as I say mostly the other things

that i have.

I do substitue with the best food sources etc, in these times.

For all with bronch and the associated probs, taking the vitamin B groups , 2, 6

12 etc you will get a lot of relief too, with night sweats.

I tried to post some articles but couldn,t as yahoogroups won,t take the large

documents as attachments will later go directly to the site and see if I can

upload there otherwise feel free to email me on sandywho82@....

, and O good to see you post.

I did have something else to contribute but at a loss, will try to remember and

post again.

I think it was for Barb and Marsha.

I am 59 and do live a very full life, and yes in agony 24x7, have my asthma

under control and haven,t had an infection of any kind for over 11 years now.

Allergies do contribute also to many of the side effects you have to meds.

Many people are late to be dx, so in some ways are lucky, but you must remember

to keep getting on with life, do the things you can and want to do.

its when you allow yourself to be dictated to by your illness, disease that it

gets you, because you get run down, and thats when things attack, also don,t try

gret new things until you are thru a flare up etc, and then can start.

Although if its dietry you can start that while taking med routines, and then

keep on doing so for life after your flare up, relapse etc.

Get into good habits and stay with them.

I forgot to say that things like atrovent are there to build up in your bodies,

to form a resilliency, where the ventolins etc are there to quickly soften and

open airways.

Sandie and I do have one thing we seem to resound and that is to get to know the

real ins and outs of your own body, your triggers, your tolerences, what you can

manage to keep up with with minimal side effects, but golly know your self.

if you realise you have a senitive feel to smells, or unusual tastes etc, reord

in a diary, date and what you are taking, how long it lasts etc.

Don,t wait till things taste bloody, muccousy, pussy, green etc

As soon as omething changes texture, smell taste etc, get in quick.

because once it gets past even a few hrs can be full on by the evening etc.

Thinning test muccous is a big plus and often lots of fluids and mabe saline

will do the trick.

Well let me know if you wish me to give you articles.

i have access to medical director and the 3 MIMS, so can help a little.

Sandy Australia.

bronch but nice to know there are others in this group who are from St. Louis.

Through the years the doctors gave me the impression I was the only one when I

would ask if I could get in contact with other bronch sufferers. I was diagnosed

in 1992 and I'm 56 years old now. I think it is great you are continuing your

education at such a " young " age. Good luck!
