Guest guest
>> Thanks for this OF quote (below), dear Alice. This is dense and >> sobering stuff - it resonates ad infinitum with those of us who even >> remotely attempt to live its truth. The Self, ah yes! To be or not to >> be. It's not only (what describes as) the 'real person' - the >> divine core that's everywhere - it's also the heart of the collective >> unconscious - and the boundless circumference of the whole. Once we >> are centred here - at the tornado's still core - we are at home in >> mysteries and uncertainties as well as in clear thought. The Self has >> a detached appreciation of the dance of all opposites - it is >> equidistant from them all. It belongs to all - and to none. Gathering >> the world to itself, serving the One Soul that infuses all, it has >> its paradoxical being in a lack of clear identity - a relative >> abolition of the ego's fixed sense of 'I'. So much of this journey >> toward wholeness, this Tao of eternal flow and change, is as >> inexplicable as the ebb and flow of Nature. Wholeness - life's goal >> and journey - is an objective reality which confronts us - often in >> times of chaos and crisis - as the ultimate carrot before the donkey, >> the calming imago Dei beckoning us further inward - and outward into >> the wounded world. >> >> As Jung says, it is fresh 'values' (born of 'feeling') - the opposite >> of 'thinking' - that we bring to the parched collective when we are >> separated from it in order to better serve. Such values are often the >> repressed, unlived antithesis of beliefs worshipped by the one-sided, >> fear-stricken masses. >> >> I like Alice's dandelion analogy - a deft blend of opposites - sturdy >> centre anchored and frail surrounds taking to the wind. Such is life >> - we're buffeted and broken by it -and the wounded pieces re-seed the >> earth, yet the core remains inviolable and grounded in the unus >> mundus. I like the spider analogy, too. It is only when Spider >> buddies are resting at the centre of the web that they are in touch >> with all that's happening; touch the web anywhere and Spider will >> sense its vibration - thus the importance of feeling. > >> And that, good folk, is why the ego must not be ruled by cold >> intellect. There's too much that can't be explained; it just is. The >> rational must befriend the irrational and vice versa - or else vice >> prevails. Personality is Tao, individuation a lived mystery, an >> endless cycle of being and becoming, dying and rebirthing, resting >> and vibrant, an unknowable certainty. To understand it, we must >> 'stand under' in humility, jump in to sink or swim, and gaze upward >> at the psyche's myriad stars. >> >> Just a bit of rambling, courtesy of Self - uniquely danced by each of >> us >> Safe journeys to all >> Maureen >> >> Dr Maureen B. Guest guest
Dearest " Mir " - Well, I'm sorry everyone [?! :-( :-) ???] but this Yahoo format still confuses me. Never mind, I SHALL ? " Press On " ?! :-) Just did want to tell you how much I appreciated your most recent post, because -- in simple(?) " weathers " sense I was also, some weeks back, " Katrina'd " . Will try to tell you more as soon as I can (either here on-list or off-list) but am right this minute, that I type into my computer keypad, feeling the need to re-read and respond to a few of the other posts here.
