I'm sorry to hear that you are losing your job Jane. I know that is

very stressful. Luckily, I haven't had to look for a job in a long

time. I am like you though, I would be totally devasted if I lost my

job. There is no way my family could survive without me working full

time. Good luck on the home based business!!!

Since you are not being fired, but instead being let

go (remember to use that phrase if you go for

unemployment) chances are good that you can get cobra

health insurance after your job ends. Ask your boss

about it.

Yes I do have that option, but the cost is going to be almost as much

as my unemployment (definately not worth it!). I should be able to

get the kids onto Kidcare but I don't think that we (my hubby and I)

will qualify as long as I am getting unemployment. I went through

this 3 years ago when the company I worked for downsized and it was

right before the towers came down. I couldn't find work for about a

year. We were in dier straights for sure.

I am sure that God will point me in the right direction, it just is

going to be a tough ride, I am sure.

An employer is only required to offer Cobra if they have more than 20

employees during the course of a year.
