Guest guest
> Hello. My 61 year old mother has just been diagnosed with bronchiectasis and yellow nail syndrome. I'm looking for any support or help for her. She was going back and forth to different dr.s in our area for the last two years and they had no diagnosis but she just went to Cleaveland Clinic and that is where she was diagnosed, but they didn't really give her any hope or help. So I'm hoping to hear from someone. > Thank you. > - I have never heard of yellow nail syndrome, but I can comment on your mother's diagnosis for bronc. I am 81 years old and have had bronc for quite a while. The Cleveland clinic is outstanding for help in this ailment. What she needs is a treatment plan from a pulmonologist at the clinic, which will probably include a number of inhalers and perhaps some tips for physical therapy. The main task is to avoid infection and if one arises, often evidenced by green sputum, to treat it quickly with antibiotics. But one can live a relatively normal life with bronc. There is lots of hope for people of her age. Get a good pulmonologist in your area and have her enjoy life. Tolly
