Let me know and I can send you the pictures of my child's face privately so

you can see if it is similar or not.

I am only going by my son, so I am not saying this is your daughter's

problem at all, but I have pictures of the worst rash ever around my son's

moth, and it would take months to heal, no doctor knew why. I figured it

out-it was from eating tomato. He absolutely can not tolerate it at all,

and he is also very sensitive to other foods as well.

I really need your help!

My daughter with autism is 6 and has had a rash around her mouth off and on

(mostly on) since she was around 1. I have taken her to see numerous

pediatricians and dermatologists who have tried oral and topical

antibiotics, steroid creams, topical nystatin and now oral diflucan.

Different things have worked for a period of time but nothing longterm.

The dermatologist agreed to refer my daughter to the head of pediatric

dermatology at Stanford but I am underwhelmed. Do any of you have ideas of

what tests I could run or things I can try? The dermatologist today said the

rash could be caused by vitamin deficiency (I had her zinc tested by the

first dermatologist who saw her at around age 2--it was fine and I do

supplement zinc every day).

The dermatologist does not think it's a food allergy because the rash is

highly localized to right around her mouth. She thought it might be her

toothpaste. I have tried several of the kids natural toothpaste without

flouride--Tom's of Maine and Burt's Bees. I checked the ingredients on other

natural toothpastes and they all look the same.

I would really appreciate any suggestions that you might have.

thanks a lot,

Molly
