Guest guest
It's unfortunate that the local media didn't follow the story as well as some of us would liked to have seen, and it would take a very long post to try to fill in the details. The more notable speakers were Gene Weatherall, and of course Dr. Duke. But what is more notable is the way the EMS community came together in one BIG show of support. 48 city, county and volunteer departments were represented, along with 13 private providers plus various agencies of law enforcement to pay tribute to our fallen brothers and sister. The procession to Rice Stadium spanned over 4 miles. It is difficult for words to express the emotion and pride one feels after being a part of a tribute for a crew that gave the ultimate sacrifice.
