Norma,

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time with weight and pain. I have the same problem, but not to the same degree, so I can relate somewhat. I have trouble sitting for long periods of time, walking a lot or standing a lot. FMS just plain sucks and I hope they find a cure for us or at least a medicine that would not cause weight gain and would help us to lead a more normal life. Most of my time is spent in bed too. Bed, computer, bathroom.

healing hugs,

Sundra

Which of the drugs cause weight gain the most. I've been taking

Elavil, Ultram and Slexin for a year and a half and have actually lost

weight (not a lot, only about 25 pounds) on them because I have found

that they completely remove your appetite for anything sweet. Just

curious as to which ones to stay away from!

Thanks

N.

My husband takes Zyprexa, an anti-depressant, and has put on

a lot of weight in a very short period of time. I'm on a BiPolar group,

and have heard the same thing from members who've tried Zyprexa.

Norma,

A couple of years ago I tried Remeron, but it caused a lot of trouble

with RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). I also tried Depakote, but it can cause

severe liver damage....I worked with a man who took it for epilepsy, and

he now has irreversible liver damage.

So far I really like all the meds I'm on....Neurontin, Seroquel,

Wellbutrin XL, Lexapro, MS-Contin, Fiorinal #3. & Clonazepam. I

don't seem to have weight problems with any of them, though I'm usually

underweight for my height. I tend to be anorectic, & the few

times I actually gained up to

my ideal weight I felt overweight & became bulimic. Probably now I

really am overweight, due to all the Krispy Kreme donuts I've eaten in

the last week (4 dozen, going by the stack of empty boxes waiting to go

into the recycling bin lol!)

I shouldn't have mentioned the donuts; now I'm trying to get to

go out and get me some more; and even whining isn't helping :=(

Please, I beg of y'all, send some mental urges to go buy me

another dozen donuts!

cyn, who really really needs some Krispy Kremes!

Hi

N.

The medications I'm on are Epival (Depekote), Trazodone, Effexor. I

also take Lamotrigine but I don't think it causes weight gain. The

two I've gone off because weight gain were Remeron and

Risperdal. Over the years I've been on Nardil, Lithium, and a

bunch of others which I can't remember their names.
