Create your own journal or file using MS Word or whatever word processer you

use.

For instance I created a document in MS Word called Bates, where I store

such information as:

Medication and dose

carbohydrate consumed

and glucose reading.

I can also insert any information I wish in this document.

Once you have named the file put a shortcut to it on your desktop. You can

also create a hotkey to bring up the file whenever you wish.

Look for a message called:

advice for Harry to see an example of how I use my word processer file.

This might give you some idea. Hope this helps.

that I can keep my daily reading on. I like to a better job of keep my

records up to date for my doctor but every now and again my glucomitor seems

Hi Mark.

Well slightly OT here but I have a program called day by day professional

that lets you save notes to a calendar, set pop up reminders, has a built in

address book, etc. It is specifically designed for the blind. You can read

more about it at my website www.blindsoftware.com and it is currently on

sale for Christmas.

regards,

Hi Mark,

have a look at this info, and I will be glad to answer any questions.

Home Blood Glucose Monitoring

HBGM Version 1.00

Do you have problems using commercially available glucose monitoring

software do to either blindness or a visual impairment. HBGM might just be

the application that lessens your frustration level.

Designed by a blind diabetic computer programmer, this application offers

the user a simplistic blind friendly approach to tracking your daily blood

sugar testing results.

Features of HBGM include:

I. A quick method of entering daily testing information.

II. A method of editing the above information once it has been stored.

III. Viewable reports based upon a wide range of reporting days.

IV. Printed summary and detail reports for your diabetic health care

professional.

V. A 30-day quick average at any time with a simple key combination.

VI. Backup capabilities.

Navigation of the application is managed through the use of the TAB and

Shift TAB, up and down arrow keys. A number of CTRL key combinations aid in

speeding up routine tasks.

HBGM automatically keeps track of missing days. If by chance you are away

from your computer due to vacation, illness or business, this application

will generate those days that you have not entered information into. Once

you have returned to your computer you will be able to add testing results

by simply locating those days in question from a list of dates starting with

the current day and by pressing your down arrow until you locate the desired

date.

HBGM also offers an easy installation process as well as a text-based

manual

that can be either copied from the CD or viewed with your favorite browser.

You may be asking yourself, can I really afford such a product. Well the

answer is YES. HBGM costs only $10.00 Cdn. including shipping.

I know the feeling. For me, it is mostlikely due to another Condition that I

have called Chiari, which in conjuction with Tethered Cord, I have wondered

if it can make it worse. This may not be the Case for you, but I just wanted

to mention that you might want to have your MRI's looked over again, because

many Dr.'s have overlooked Chiari. I'm not by any means saying you have it,

just that you might want to look into it more, atleast it wouldn't hurt.

Your " theory " does make sense, and I do believe it is true to some degree,

but with it being more extreme for you, I wouldn't hesitate to see if

something else is going on.

Hope that helps.
