That will be very rewarding .

<Thanks so much Sundra. I really do love it there. And seeing that

little girl with the horses this morning was the highlight of my day

=) What I hope to work towards is giving lessons to little kids and

handicapped kids.

Well Michigan is just beautiful then! I've never been there. I guess I must have heard the latter about horses not laying down, but not why and it probably would make me cry if I did know. I've learned something new...horses can roll! lol

I live in Michigan, about an hour or so north of Detroit.Lol - the horses were rolling. Horses can lay down just fine and getright back up. The two that were rolling do it almost every timethey're turned out, it's funny to watch, and they enjoy it so much. There are certian situations that when a horse lays down they can'tget back up, but I won't get into those!Loves and Hugs,-

Well, in certian situations a horse might lay down. Like if they're

sick or in some kind of pain (colic is common) and just won't get up.

In cases like that, we try to get them on their feet and keep them

walking as much to our ability as we can!

But I love teaching anyone who wants to know about horses. They're my

favorite subject to talk about!

Michigan is beautiful, but the fall weather has been killing me! Last

week there was one day that was 80-something, and then the next it was

60-something! And yesterday we had THE WORST gloomy and cloudy day! It

looked like it was trying to rain all day, and it never did. And it

was so chilly. It's not so bad when the sun's out.

....I dread winter!

What a lovely place ! No wonder you were so happy to get the job. I had horses for years and knew various stables where horses were kept, but this is one of the nicest set ups I have seen. I may have missed some posts from you, but I seem to recall most of the horses are away now? How many are there in total when they return and will they bring extra staff/grooms with them when they come? When the horses are stabled all the time in winter are there full time staff living there to look after them overnight?

Well done on finding and getting such a nice job.. I think horses are therapeutic too!

Well, right now there are 5 - by Sunday most of them will be home so

we'll have about 15. At the end of October we'll be done with shipping

and we'll have a total of 18.

I was hired in and another girl was too - but she hasn't started yet.

So it'll be between me, her, and the two barn managers to split all

the duties of the horses and the barn chores.

Thanks so much Penny! I really do love it there!
