I have tried both but not together. First Gabapentin which didn't help even on 2400mgs, and later Amitryptilline - also didn't help. I didn't know you could take them together. Guest guest
I take several medications together, do you see an effective pain management doctor who specializes in Neuropathic pain? > In article <cbmoon+uctq@e...>, davidbrian232000 > <davidbrian232000@y...> writes > > > But if you have the right > > medication: a combination of anti-convulsants(neurontin) and > > tricyclic anti-depressants you could feesably experience a 90% > > improvement in pain related symptoms. > > , can you explain this a bit more please? Guest guest
Monika, I take 1000-1300mgs of Gabapentin, 25mgs of Amitriptyline - these two meds help the tingling/burning/numbness sort of pain. I take Diclofenacs up to 150mg for my ankle pain and Dihydrocodeine up to 180mgs per day for breakthrough. (need at least 90mgs on a good day) This combo works to aleviate most of my pain and sometimes I have periods of no pain!!!!! There are of course days when nothing touches it. Are you seeing a PM doctor is is it just your GP at present?
