Guest guest
Hi Norah, Don't worry...I've been called worse. :-) Thanks for the words of encoragement and advice. My Dr. diagnosed me, but wanted to send me to a rheumy (not a rummy as I have mistyped before!) to confirm, but I got cut off from my insurance before I could go see him. I do need to double check, but I'm fairly certain I don't qualify for disability or anything like that. Moving out isn't a half bad idea. The thing about the fibro is that my mom claims she has it! You'd think someone suffering from it would have a bit more sympathy. She says that most of the time she feels just fine and she doesn't take any pain meds for it or anything, so I do wonder... -
Guest guest
- I know how you feel I am going threw problems like that with my roomate only I do everything and he sits on his ass and doesnt think I am in pain. I know that things will be better once you are on your own but unfortunatly it sounds like your parents wont change their mind untill they either learn more about fibro or it happens to them.I am lucky , my mother supports me and understands wqhat is going on with me... shoot every time she comes home from lunch she asks me if I am going to need a nap today and if so I can use her bed (I dont live in the same town as her). If it wasnt for my mother the only support I would have is this group. I am so sorry that your parents dont understand what you are coping with. I wish I could change that for you so they would be a little simpathetic and cut you some slack. Being so young and getting FMS is very hard, I am learning that too. I am 23 (on saturday) and people think I am lazy too because I dont have the energy to do things like a " normal " 23 year old or I hurt so bad I dont want to move. Im just glad that I didnt have to go another 4 or more years with out knowing what was wrong with me, at least now I can put a name with the pain and other problems that come with Fibromyalgia. I hope things get better for you at home. If you ever want to vent or just chat with someone you can always talk to me. and believe it or not I am a parent and I understand you. You are not alone! ka > > I know there are a lot of parents on the list, so I probably won't get > too much sympathy over the chores and other things...but I'm 19 for > Pete's Sake. Guest guest
Sorry to hear you are going through a bad spell painwise.. we all know what its like though I am not sure about your stomach, if that doesn't feel better in a short time maybe you should see the doc? Could you make a copy of one of the letters that have been posted to show your family? There are a couple of good ones that really explain how we feel with Fibromyalgia. If you don't know the ones I mean ask and one of us will find them for you! Hugs Penny On 25/08/2004 21:03:21, fibromyalgia_support_group wrote: > The last few days I've felt sick to my stomach. Guest guest
Hi Penny, I managed to eat something today, but I'm still feeling sick. Really hoping this is a bug or something. I would go to the doc if this persists, but I don't have medical insurance now, so no doc for me. Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. :-) -

While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. > > 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. > > > Have a nice day everyone. > >
