Be sure you cut your nails. I don't accept students with long nails....I have been known to call their mother and you don't want me doing that because she will tell me a rude joke and I will "get" it!!!!!

On my 60th birthday a student....about 5 years old....asked me how old I was. I told her "60" and she looked at me for a long time and said ..."And you're STILL alive!" Boy did I feel old!!!!!

I should write a book about all the crazy things students have told me. They blab and blab and know I will keep confidences. I have told them that I won't rat on them unless they tell me something illegal or destructive. One girl told me about a friend who had threatened suicide and I went straight to the phone and called the girl's pastor. It was too late and I will never forget how awful I felt...and my student was heartbroken. The girl was 14. There was a real epidemic in Dallas (where we lived at the time) ....I think about 15 kids killed themselves. Awful. My piano lessons are all an hour long and I do that so the kids have time to talk and tell me about things. I just love them!!!!

Don't know how I got on this topic. I need to go eat dinner!!!! Love, Cam

Re: April

LOL....YES..you can have my name but you gotta take the funky birthday with it.. ;c)

Gosh..I am always being accused of talking to myself but usually its mumbling while I'm cleaning something up that *I* should not be doing..hehee...

I agree though..1. we do have to encourage ourselves or we might go insane..second I try and laugh all I can. In fact I have laughed at inappropriate times to some.. My mom has a sick sense of humor and I think I got that from her. The most horrible thing can happen in our family (were like a darn soap opera..lol) and my mom will crack the stupidest rudest joke and we all 'get it'..sometimes others don't and we all feel like we just stuck our foot in our mouths.. :c)

I think I can make Indiana in about 10 hours, I'll do my best..*wink*...

April

April....first of all.....I WANT YOUR NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN WE CHANGE MINE TO APRIL?????????????????

Today I had an adult student and I made so many mistakes I started mumbling to myself!!! I find that I am constantly talking to myself telling myself encouraging things. I have asked if it bothers him and he says that after 47 years he is used to it!!! At least I say encouraging things.....I feel like saying ":You dumb _hit"....but I refrain. Having fibro and being almost 70 is a lethal combination. I don't recommend it to anyone.....or at least...try to prepare yourself. I turned 60 and had a heart attack and then the whole ceiling fell in and things are still happening 10 years later. Patch and Mend....that's my password!!!! But you have to laugh....laughter is healing. Love, Cam P.S. I live in Indiana....I'll expect you on Monday at 4 for a piano lesson!!!!!1. a....I've read All of the Jan Caron books. Don't you love the dog....can't remember his name....was it Riley???? And I loved the whole town....poor Father had his hands full. Love, Cam I had such an awful day today (IBS) that I think that is why God is not sending me a parrot. I just stayed in bed all day and could hardly give the cats the attention they demanded. Love, Cam

April,

I am not physically able to exercise either, but I can stretch and that does feel good.

If you decide to buy and exercise machine, let me recommend an elliptical machine. Proform has one that is fairly inexpensive. The there is of course Nocore (sp? The ones that Dr. Phil gave out) and/or Nordic Track that have more professional models. Anyway, the elliptical don't have any joint trauma at all (unlike treadmills, that still provide some trauma from impact). The only thing I noticed with the Elliptical machines was a bit of vertigo, jelly legs and/or dizziness when first stepping off. If I had the money, this would definitely be what I bought. I used to sell sporting goods equipment so I am familiar with quite a few of them. The Elliptical also requires less upkeep than the treadmill. I think Proform even had a piece that could be an Elliptical or a Recumberent Bicycle, this was about 5 years ago so I'm sure they have improved this piece since then.

My docs keep telling me to stay active. My idea of staying active right now, is not an exercise class but the fact that I work 2 days a week. I would much rather stay home but I force myself to get up, get dressed and get out at least those 2 days a week. Plus I have my children almost every weekend, so I try to do something with them at least one of those days. That is all the "activity" that I can muster right now. I do walk, on a rare occasion...like maybe 12 times a year...LOL does that count?

LOL, I forgot that on my list. I had my gallbladder out in 1999.
