Guest guest
To my knowledge the Lipoma associated with Lipomyelomeningocele or Lipomeningocele is initially the Tether. So when you have that removed, or as much of it as possible, you are in turn being Detethered. For those of you with Lipomyelomeningocele or Lipomeningocele, correct me if I am wrong. I hope that explains it for you. Me Nebraska, USA mymocha@... so you had that and tethered cord, right? Did they do the rescection of the lipoma and detether at the same time? Guest guest
From my understanding...at least in my daughter's case...her spinal cord was tethered to the lipoma itself. It was detethered during the process of rescecting (sp?) the lipoma. Elissa- mom to Jr. (4), Jennah (2), and Jesmarie (4 months- lipomyelomeningocele, tethered cord, and syrinx- surgery at 3 months) rande wrote: To my knowledge the Lipoma associated with Lipomyelomeningocele or Lipomeningocele is initially the Tether. Guest guest
This is my understanding of the lipoma resection, too. By removing as much as they could, they detethered the cord. In my case, he said my spinal cord moved up pretty well with the second surgery. I have no idea about the first. --- Elissa Mercado wrote: > From my understanding...at least in my daughter's > case...her spinal cord was tethered to the lipoma > itself.
