Well, I've heard of " an I-131 metastatic survey " or a " metastatic

survey with I-131 " [take your pick], but I have a suspicion that that

the MICU/NICU may refer to the patient's location?? (Medical ICU or

Newborn ICU, assuming the former to be more likely) ... I've not heard

of anything similar combined with the I-131 phrasing ...

Are you old enough to remember Maxwell Smart in " Get Smart, " with his

They're slanging " retic " at you, which is a reticulocyte count.

You are on a beta blocker (metropolol). However, you also say your

symptoms are worse at night, and you have chronic vertigo. Vertigo is a

sign of an autonomic nervous system imbalance. Although you also get

fast rate under stress, and the beta blocker appears to help (maybe just

with the high rate problem once you are in AF), these other two

mentioned are still a couple of signs you may have a vagal component to

your AF. Check out my web site and see what you think. If you have

vagal AF at all, beta blockers make it worse in the way of being more

likely to go into AF.

Hope you can find some way forward.

Best of health to all,

Rick, I am recently diasgnosed with PF and I am 35. I am a newlywed

and is my greatest support and love. He knows what all this

means and loves me all the same. Don't give up on life. Enjoy it and

you both love each other and she is willing to walk through it with

you GO FOR IT!!! What special memories you'll make. Who knows you may

have many years ahead of you and be so depressed that you did not

marry when you did. If you are a praying person, pray for guidance

and strength. If you are not a praying person, then start. LOL

You will get help and support here and unfortunately we all suffer

from the same monster as they call it.

Keep in touch and do your research. There are many diff medicines to

control what you have and therapies that aid in mobility. so if it;s

not so severe yet, take on life and ride it as best as you can.

Rick,

You may be our youngest member. So glad you came here. So very sorry that you are and have been so sick. You are grieving for your lost health and forced to look at your mortality very early in your life. It is very difficult to be told that you are faced with a chronic and potentially terminal illness. Especially at your young age. I understand your grief. Give yourself the time to heal emotionally. I hope that you have faith because when you turn this thing over to God who loves you so very much, you will begin to look forward to each day as a gift from him.

We have several members in your part of the country. They will be here to answer your quieries about medical care in CA. Most everyone has been to a teaching hospital for evaluation and consult. It is a good idea to do that.

I would advise you to get copies of all test results. Ask your hospital and doctor's office to make copies for you. Take charge and manage your care. Search for answers online. There is a lot of good info right here. Petterson has posted many links to information on PF and oxygen therapy. We learn a lot from each other.

Feel free to ask anything, unload any grief or frustration and be prepared to listen in return. We need each other. We understand. We get it.

Marry that girl!

Hugs, Joyce PF 1997

Hi Rick, My name is and I have been diagnosed with everything from uip ipf cancer etc. As you can see, I don't have any on them. After going to Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN my final dx was hypersensttivity pneumonitis. Even tho there are 2 forms of hp, one chronic and the other acute, they can be treated with good results. Please have a hyprensitivity blood panel done. HP is caused by allergic reactions that will cause fibrosis.May God give you comfort during this time of searching. Cyndi, She is Smita Desai at UC San Diego. San Diego is 7th in the country for transplants and UCLA is rated as 14th. I have changed doctors 4 times since I was first diagnosed in March. I have been seeing Desai since June and am very pleased. She has been extremely thourough and takes a lot of time explaining everything to me. wrote: HI , Where is the doctor in San Diego.
