Hey Byron,

Good luck with the tonsillectomy. Maybe the block party will have ice cream

on hand for you : )

Thank you. Ice cream is nice, but I want to know if I'll be able to drink

beer!

Hi Byron, sorry to just be getting back to you, but I have been at

home recovering from gallbladder removal surgery (last Thursday the

5th), and don't have a working computer at home.

The level of suck was pretty high, but mind you I combined a

tonsillectomy with a sinus surgery, so I couldn't breathe at all. I

had to breathe through my mouth the whole time, which dried out my

throat, which made swallowing a complete and total hell for about a

week.

I could only eat popsicles. I couldn't even handle swallowing ice

cream, that really hurt. I don't remember eating again for about a

week, it was 5 years ago though so I'm a bit foggy. Just ice water

and popsicles. And I couldn't sleep at all, because you have to

swallow at some point during sleep, which caused the severe pain to

wake me back up. It was just an awful experience.

I was off work for 2 1/2 weeks. I just layed around and watched TV

the whole time (boy does daytime TV suck). I didn't really have the

energy to get going again, but it could have been the double surgery

crap. Or I was lazy LOL Anyway, mountain biking shouldn't be too

bad after a week or so, given you can swallow enough water to keep

hydrated and keep your mouth from drying out.

Let us know how it goes. Oh, by the way, GALLBLADDER surgery SUCKS

bigtime! No one told me it would hurt so much afterward. They made

it sound like it wasn't a big deal, since it was day surgery. Bite

my butt, I've been in pain for 5 days now. This is my first day back

at work and I'm not very happy about it.

One last dumb question. Rumor is that there will be a significant weight lose (10-15lbs). Any truth?

I don't think I lost that much, maybe 5 pounds. Probably cause I was

sitting on my butt the whole time. I've already lost 6 lbs. in the

last 5 days from the GB surgery, because my stomach hates everything

except toast and malt-o-meal. Wanna lose weight, try the GB surgery

LOL
