Folks,

I just got our ITP Cisco, Linksys VoiP adapters so as to keep that wonderful Panasonic 4 line system we are so fond of and not have to deal with a new system in VioP Phones too.

Anyway, we got our Time Warner Cable a very long time ago, back in the middle of 2004 and never really had a big need to update or upgrade it until now. Our speed is probably not even half a gig, not joke in todays blazing world of fiber. So I just tested our gear and go it hooked-up and although its not bad, it's not all that great either, and it got a bit worse when I ran it along an old Cat 5 cable I use to get the printer, fax from the front desk to the back where all the main computer stuff, P2P server is... We have an older but strong singled Netgear 824 Super G multi antena wireless router that is standard routing speed and not Gigbit but that's about to change as I have a newer Wireless "N" Netgear, dual channel (A & G) ready to go in when I get a chance....

It amazing that here anyway, I can barely get a few Gigs of bandwidth from TWC for about the same price I can get many times that speed, and better closer range together up and down wise too, from Fios but it means doing the old vendor swap and I am particularly not pleased with Verizon's general "we're all big and downstate NY bad" full of themselves when I need something. Where as TWC has been a heck of a lot more Friendly, plain nice. As an old Bronxite I know when I hear it, experience it....

So I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with updating gear, cables (I've got some CAT 6 wire and splicing stuff waiting for the new router job to take advantage of it for real), ISP connection and speed, ISP vendor changes and the like. And what if anything was your experiences in terms of the Quality of your Voice phones when such changes happened. I'm honestly getting a bit into my later years now and after many years of being a loud rock musician, audio engineer, stagehand, I've certainly got a "Notch" in my hearing in those important to speak intelligabilty frequencies, so sound quality is important to me as I can tell the difference and I need it too... :-)

Thanks Much,
