Guest guest Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hello, I am a bit intimidated to post as I have read through each of the rules and suggestions for this site and I am hoping I don't break any rules here. My name is Dawn, I am 41 years old and live in New York. I have several chronic pain issues the most painful being chronic pancreatitis with excessive calcium deposits. I have been being treated for chronic pain for almost two years and am due to be back in the hospital in a few weeks for my annual two week stay to do what seems like a thousand tests so they can tell me that indeed, I do have pain. Currently I am prescribed 120mgs of Oxycontin every six hours with Lortab 10/500 for breakthrough pain. (I hope I can say this??) My pain is fairy well controlled for the most part but as with many of us, I have some really bad days too. I am/was a psychologist by trade however am no longer able to practice due to my own conviction that I should not practice while on narcotics. I have two daughters, one 19, in college majoring in elementary education, and one 18 who is graduating this spring and headed to college to major in business administration. I guess that's me for now. Thank you for allowing me to join the group, I hope to receive some support and new ideas but would also like to reciprocate that as well. Sincerely, Dawn New York Quote
