Go to http://groups.yahoo.com type " aspergers " into the search box - you'll find 119 groups. Go through the descriptions of the groups and apply to join the ones you like then type " autism " in - there are 1037. Go through the descriptions of the groups and apply to join the ones you like.... " autism mercury " - 25 of them..... >Lana, thanks for explaining why some knee jerks are aspie lists >are reacting so strongly to the mercury postings. I didn't know. I can only add that it seems these folks, many of them I can only describe as " fanatical " , seem to believe ABA cures mercury poisoning.... *My* issue is that they insist it is mercury poisoning but refuse to call it that, instead " jumping on the autism bandwagon " . I've been too abused by these folks, I'm on over 100 lists, *this* is the sane one. I'm not poisoned, was autistic from the day he was born and Ben, like me, was always different, and bloomed into a full blown obviously Aspie when he was 9. > I too have a child in my family who >showed a shift in behavior and development that may be traced >to a vaccination. No. I never said that anyone deserves no respect. How you made it this far without falling over the vaccine/autism thing I'll never know. I said, " f you want to cure mercury poisoning, fine, go cure mercury poisoning but leave autism alone. " They are NOT the same thing and should not be called the same thing. If you want to learn more, I have a page you can start on - http://www.PlanetAutism.com/merc-vacc.htm . I'm not trying to Ban mercury info, I was just hoping this list could stay that special place it was, different from those 1036 other autism lists. >We are all struggling to better understand the workings of our >bodies and our minds. Guest guest
<<< Lana, I'm sorry your household is torn by the conflict that appears to exist. I am not aware of that conflict.>>> Zer, i did not make myself clear. My household is NOT " torn " by the conflict. It's just in my household autism and vaccine injury are two separate issues that have nothing to do with each other: ASD: AS traits are present in at least three generations on my maternal side, but they have nothing to do with vaccines or mercury - along with those traits, my maternal heredity includes giftedness, excellent physical health and longevity. My grandmother is just like me - high-strung and hyperlexic; she is 94 and still runs around the apartment faster than a cockroach. None of us was ever overvaccinated or chemically poisoned. Vaccine injury: several years ago, my then 13-y/o and totally NT daughter was subjected to school-mandated HepB vaccination. Shortly after that, she developed Crohn's disease - an incurable and potentially fatal autoimmune disease affecting GI, joints, skin and other systems. There are no other known cases of Crohn's on either side of our family. " Standard treatment " by steroids and immunosuppressants made her condition much worse; then i started researching, found out about Autism-Mercury forum, vaccine injury and started treatment by the same protocol used to treat mercury-poisoned autistic children, under supervision of a physician specializing in such cases. It helped greatly, and her condition is steadily improving. (boy, can i understand those parents' wish for " cure " ...) So, as you can see, in my family we've got vaccine-unrelated autism and vaccine-related non-autism...which made both my kid and me ineligible for any practical support of our needs from mainstream " autism = vaccine injury, vaccine injury = autism " organizations and legal eagles... -Lana

The AS specialist professor, that refused to believe that my childhood was not that of AS would be quite angry at this contradiction to his theories. I for one, know that my childhood was not normal, although I rarely stood out like a sore thumb but some consultants make some peoples lives even more difficult. Anas PS i do remember attempting to play marbles after breaking a thermometer at school as a teenager.
