twheeler question - new bed

Before I tried a new mattress, I tried a topper pad on the old

mattress. I really liked the inch and a half thick topper of memory

foam (not the egg crate but the rebound foam) - I got one from

JCPenney catalogue - so I thought that a full mattress would probably

be better.

There's lot of sites on line, and ebay, and a lot of different types

of foam and ways of putting it all together. Prices can go sky high.

Plus shipping charges are added on some and free on others. I found a

vendor online called sleepwarehouse.

The mattress has three layers of foam, a 4 " memory foam and two latex

layers that you can switch around for more or less softness. It's the

same thickness as a regular mattress. It comes by UPS in two boxes

about 3 foot square and less than 40 lbs each. I really have had

improvement. Better sleep all around. Less pain and more rest. It

really helped.

Some of the cheaper ones are not the real " memory " type foam, and some

of the expensive ones I can't understand why they cost so much. I just

took a chance since I didn't get to try it first, but it turned out

really well. Had it about a year and it doesn't seem to be wearing out

or dipping or anything so far.

Good luck with your search. Bill Also, thanks everyone for your

suggestions, I don't post much but always get good ideas. It's nice to

have help. Especially since no one else really has a clue what it's

like with chronic pain and the other problems that go with it.
