Tim,

Thanks, you know what? I think it may have been from the autoimmune liver

disease group that I was being a voyeur in for awhile...Gosh, I don't know

where I got that.....

so, I owe each and everyone of you an apology for continually asking a

question that NONE of you knew the slightest thing about.... I feel

shame...:)

Patti,

I looked in the archives and the only things I could find on

Cheryl and Randy were your questions. My guess is you saw a

posting or article somewhere else. I don't recall any news about

them on this group.

I also tried to find a reference to INR. No success. I have a

hunch it has to do with blood clotting times, but nothing to

base that on (sort of like Cheryl and Randy - there in the mind

but nowhere else). The UNOS critera are bilirubin, albumin,

ascites, encephopathy and clotting time. So it would be likely

to match one of the last three.

My wife says that INR is basically the same as PT, but uses a different

scale, so that normal would be 1. So it sounds like your basically

right. She says she thinks that an INR of 1 would be equivalent to a PT

of 12.6 or 13 seconds.

I just looked up some of my blood tests, and it shows 12.6 second PT to

be .9 INR. It would vary from lab to lab depending on the technique

being used, but an INR of 1 should always be normal

athan

Patti,

I just wanted to say I think your right, that Randy and Cheryl were in

a different group. Before I had a definite diagnosis I joined a few of the

other liver groups and I kept remembering Randy and Cheryl when you would

post about them, however I was thinking that was when I first joined, so I

did not know them or have any information on them, so I never replied to your

postings, sorry!! Have a good day!!
