[i definitely shouldn't have re-read Snippets....]

One of the snips on my Snippets page is called something

like " Short-term Memory " and is about a few things that

can make responding to such questions difficult for us.

But I'm not sure any of them fits this case.

The one question -Anne, has not answered is about meds, hence

why I asked it. I take Neurontin and whilst the pain relief is great

the forgetting the word half way through a sentence is something I

experience too............mind you, I used to do that before I took

the drug! lol

The driving experience is also familier. I used to drive home from

work and wonder how I had travelled so far without an recallection of

it??? (Pre Neurontin)

I find the Neurontin an good drug and I don't think the side effects

I experience are as bad as others I have heard of. When I recently

upped the deose, I noticed the moodiness increasing but I'm settled

now. YES I AM!!!! (he he)

Forgot to answer your question. Anti seizure meds seem to be the gold

standard when it comes to nerve pain but these are being refined all

the time. My PM doc told me of a new one called Pregabalin. He's only

prescribed it 3 times and is yet to have any feedback but I'll be

happy to let you know his thoughts when I see him next.

Another thing - Amitriptyline (Elavil in the USA). It's a good med

for nerve issues and sleep ones too. I take it with neurontin and the

double whammy effect helps better than either on it's own
