Guest guest
Hi, Her name is Amy Harmon, incidentally... I've talked with her before, but there was something in her manner that made it very hard for me to answer her questions. I have a difficult time doing phone interviews in the first place, and I'm sure I came off sounding rambling and inarticulate. Re: sudden thought re: NYT > She could say anything. I'm taking a gamble on her. Guest guest
Hi, Yes, in fact it was for the same article she's working on now, presumably. (I was under the impression it had already run, or the Times for some reason had squelched it). She had noticed a statement of mine on this list (which at the moment, I cannot remember, nor the context in which it was made) and wanted to talk with me further. However, when it came to the supposedly simple question of how I came to believe I was AS, I froze. I could not confine that to a few simple sentences in my introduction to this list, let alone in an interview. And I have a far better time expressing myself in writing (something she by now should have realized is true of most of us here). I suspect she probably believes me to be a fraud, or that I have some other problem unrelated to autism. Re: sudden thought re: NYT > > > > > > > She could say anything. I'm taking a gamble on her. She's not. Not unless she used a pseudonym and claimed to be on the spectrum...
Guest guest
Hi, It might not have been this list--she cross-posts to a number of them, like AS-and-Proud-of-It. As I recall, she had permission to be there.
