Guest guest
Any newer info on Homocysteine and diet? I have an out patient coming in the morning with elevated homocysteine as one of his problems. I have read mixed information on B12 and folic acid, especially supplements. Thank you, Holly Moler-Krohne RD

Guest guest
One of the latest studies out shows that while folic acid and B12 lower homocysteine levels, supplementation does not effect the morbidity and mortality from heart disease (the end point). More research is needed as to why there are no positive effects on heart disease and as to if there is an independent relationship between lowering homocysteine and other areas of health. Kathy J.
