Guest guest
Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a while as I had surgery and have been offline. I had surgery for my chiari and things are doing better on top but I am having pretty bad symptoms in my legs, bowel, and bladder. The NSG in NY wants me to try to find someone in my area for eval. Anyone have anyone they can reccomend around Portland OR that is not Wehby? I've already discussed my case with her assistant and she said find a grown up NSG but wouldn't give me any names..... Guest guest
Hi Charnel, Sorry, I don't have any names for you. Just know of mostly pediatric docs. I'm wondering why there is no one in Dr. Wehby's office that they will recommend? Does Dr. Wehby & her assistant feel they are not the best choice (the adult microsurgeons)? Also - I am wondering why the NY guys didn't evaluate for t.c.??? Or they want you to have a surgeon closer to home for the t.c.? The closest adult doc I can think of that is recommended on the West Coast for Chiari and related conditions is Dr. Batzdorf in Southern California. in Paradise (from the wacma list) might have some other names for you? Best wishes, 's mom Need NSG in Oregon/Washington for adult....... Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a while as I had surgery and have been offline. Guest guest
I am also in Portland. The only two docs that I know of that specialize in SB and TCS are Dr. Wehby and Dr. Selden. Dr. Selden is at OHSU and runs a SB clinic. He also is a pediatric NS, but he also sees adults. I thought Dr Wehby did as well. Currently, I am seeing Dr. Selden. After I complete all the urological testing, I intend on asking Dr. Wehby for a second opinion (for surgery). I have not yet contacted her office. What was you experience with her?? I really liked the clinic at OHSU. Where did you have surgery? did you have surgery on TSC or just Chiari? How old are you? What are you symptoms? I'm 32 and have lipomyelomeningocele and TCS. Please email me. Carol > Hi Charnel, > > Sorry, I don't have any names for you. Guest guest
Sorry, I know you don't want to hear this, but Dr. Wehby. Her Assistant doesn't sound like she knows much............ in alot of Cases, the best thing for us is a Pediatric Neurosurgeon, because they have more experience. Often, Pediatric Neurosurgeons will see Adults. And the Assistant should have given you Names. Good luck. Me Nebraska, USA mymocha@... > > Anyone have anyone they can reccomend around Portland OR that is not > Wehby?
