Good luck with your surgery! Do you have to travel far to this hospital?

Fortunately I don't have to travel far at all and have the support

of my family as always I am worried about scar tissue, which is the

one thing that seems to plague us from having permanent recoveries.

Have you guys found any new information regarding minimizing scar

tissue? The only substantial findings I have found discuss the use

of gortex membranes to widen the spinal canal and create a non-

adhesive barrier. However, even this won't prevent scar tissue or

tethering, it will simply minimize things.

Jesus when all is said and done I am glad I was able to finish

college last year. I am just 23 and the future looks pretty grim,

all I want is to be able to pick up my kids and support my family.

I have found that I am increasingly dependant on other people, which

isn't bad but I also want to get more out of life and do more on my

own.

That's going to happen, no matter what. That's just what Surgery does. But

remember, it really only becomes a problem if you become Symptomatic again,

and not everybody does.

This is late.......so I am happy to hear now that things have gone well with

your Surgery.

Not necessarily. There are people who never have this Surgery, even though

they have Tethered Cord. True, for some it could be that they have been

Misdiagnosed, or have just choosen not to have the Surgery. But for others,

they truely do not need it. Then there are those who have had the Surgery,

but then have no more problems, even though the Scar Tissue is there.

Unfortunately as of yet, there hasn't been anything to prevent Retethering.

They've tried a few things, but they ended up not working as well as what

they thought.
