Guest guest
This is to sunliz...sorry I don't know your name. If your doctor thinks a day or a day and a half without pain is called remission...I think she has a screw loose! I thought remission meant a much longer time than 24 or 36 hours. If you feel you cannot work...then you should apply for disability. Good luck, Kay
Guest guest
< I asked my doctor about taking disability since I do have the fibro, and the Hidradenitis Suppurativa, and the bulging disc, but she said that they would probably only consider it for the fibro, and it is to hard to get since you do have remissions. Well I am sorry but I hurt all the time, out of a week I might have on average 1 to 1 and a half pretty decent days if that many. Do most of ya'll have remissions and how long do they last? Stood out there today and thought I just can't do this anymore. I have gotten to where I can't do my job good, customers ask me what is wrong etc.> Hi Lynette, I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. Bless your heart. I wouldn't just take the doctor's answer on the disability. You should contact an attorney who handles disability cases and they can give you better and more accurate information since they deal with it all the time. I know people who have got it on FMS only. I got mine on FMS and my back/neck problems. Have you seen a neurosurgeon for your back problem? My neurosurgeon and family doctor who were treating me for the back problem and FMS respectively were instrumental in me getting my disability. Don't give up hun. I would pursue it. As far as remission. I know I had my FMS longer than my dx two years ago and I've not had a remission yet. I have 18+ tenderpoints on dx. hugs, Sundra

Guest guest
Wow Lynette, Personally, I believe you hurt more because you are still working. I don't think your hubby may understand the difference between a +10 on the pain scale while you are working, and maybe a +6 while you aren't working. I'm just grabbing numbers out of the air here, but to the non-fibs, pain may just be pain and they don't understand the difference in pain levels. Maybe try to explain the differences. KInd've like a pulled muscle versus a broken bone. Or even better, men can relate to this one best... it's like the difference between a sprained ankle and trying to work when you've been kicked in the groin area. I hope you feel better soon hun, I would try to disability... if you qualify then it's a lot better than being in that kind of pain. I have no idea how you've been able to work like that. gentle hugs, Norah Hi to All And of course this week it has been raining and that makes it even that much worse. My husband says I can't quit he understands I hurt, but he says what job can I get where I will have what I have there. And besides he says you hurt all the time no matter where you are. LOL he is right. Well enough of the ranting and raving. Still hurting and I dread waking up in the morning if I ever do go to sleep Love Lynette
