Guest guest
Hi all, I am a 28 year old female. It looks like I will have surgery to release my tethered cord in the next few weeks. My surgeon tells me it is quite a simple operation as I have only a thickened filum with no other problems. Has anyone had surgery for this condition before? I am told I will probably be on hospital 5-6 days and then maybe 6 weeks before going back to work?? I am curious to know from you what it was like for you after surgery??? How did it feel?? Was it a slow or fast recovery?? What was the pain like?? I realise every individual case is different but I need some re assurance that everything will be Ok. I am quite scared!! Thanks
Guest guest
I just had that surgery a week and a half ago and I am doing great. I only spent one night in the hospital. The first night I had quite abit of pain but since then it has been getting better. If there is anything else I can tell you I would be happy. Bruce > > Hi all, > I am a 28 year old female. Guest guest
Hi Bruce Great to hear from you so quickly. Did you not have to lie in hospital for 2 days to prevent CSF leakage?? I am surprised you were allowed to go home so quickly. Did you have trouble at all walking after the surgery? Thanks, > > > > Hi all, > > I am a 28 year old female. Guest guest
No the doc said after the fist day after lunch if I could sit up for 2 hours and not get a headache I could go home. I had some trouble walking the first day but after that it wasn't too bad. Bruce > > Hi Bruce > Great to hear from you so quickly. Guest guest
Thanks Bruce Your message has eased my mind a bit about having surgery!! If you don't mind could I ask how old you are? I'm 28. Thanks > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > I am a 28 year old female. It looks like I will have surgery to > > > > release my tethered cord in the next few weeks.
