Guest guest
Hi Angie, There are a number of people here who use charcoal and swear by it. Just wanted to let you know that's not the case for everyone. I can't take it at all--it makes me extremely nauseated and feels like it burns a hole in my stomach. As everyone here says, we're all different. I was wondering if anyone has experience with it. Where can I purchase it and how do you take it? Wanted to see if it can benefit me in any way. Guest guest
Hi Angie, my son and I both use this to reduce herxes from rifing -- it defintley absorbs toxins and helps with IBS. There is very litle risk of adverse effects -- but you will reduce nutrient absorption as well ,as the charcoal just sucks up everyhting. I take it 2-3 hours after eating to stop heavy herxing and maintain nutrients from food and supps. www.iherb.com sells charcoal at a good price. If you have serious abdominal symptoms take a look at the Dr Ohira's pro-biotics on iherb also. Unfortunatley, it is expensive --but the best cure I have found for any abdominal symptoms. best wishes Debra OT: Activated charcoal Hi All, I want to try activated charcoal for the abdominal symptoms I have been having for over a year now. Guest guest
Thank you. Does the charcoal come with instructions on usage, and how often a day do you take it? Once, twice? I have had severe abdominal symptoms since using the coil machine intensely for a while. I did not eliminate toxins at the time while using it cos frankly, I didn't think I had to. This is because I never herxed from using the coil, even though I was using it much. Do you think this Dr. Ohira's probiotic can be helpful to me? Guest guest
Also Debra, do you take the powder form or tablets or capsules? Guest guest
Thanks Peggy for sharing your experience with charcoal. This situation I'm in, has taught me that we indeed are all different in our responses to different protocols. I'll keep your experience in mind. Guest guest
Angie, I use charcoal for detox, I don't really notice that it helps with GI issues. I've been dealing with GI issues for several years. After gluten sensitivity was discovered, on a strict diet for 15 months, testing still showed malabsorption. GI symptoms were constipation, bloating and occasional nausea. Eventually testing showed that I was not able to break down carbohydrates, apparently damage to the intestine (from gluten? lyme? other?) prevents me from making the enzymes to digest carbs. Supplementing enzymes didn't help, and my doctor said it rarely does for this problem. So he put me on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. This is much better for me, but I still have GI issues. Along the way, I have treated parasites too, and after using a couple rounds of Humaworm, I still had a strongyloides infection that took two rounds of prescription meds to clear. Found that by the Metametrix test that checks for DNA of parasites. Current GI issues are mainly bloating, occasional nausea, poor intestinal motility. Recently my organic acid test showed extremely high levels of the acid that is a by-product of clostridium, so I'm treating C diff right now hoping for eventual improvement. At this point, I'm thinking that infections are maybe the cause of my GI issues, and hope that over time, coiling is going to make a difference. MAybe it is C diff, bartonella, and borrelia. Guest guest
Peggy, what kind of GI problems do you have? And is Pharmax some kind of probiotic?
