Guest guest
Ruth.. do you do for a living? Hugs, Cam Re: To Cam Do you have close caption on your tv? If you have a CC tv, this could resolve the volume of your tv. Today, I had a very bad headache and I kept the sound down. I also try not to have it loud at night either, because I know the neighbors would start bitching. They complained I wake them up with my alrarm clock. I don't understnad how a person could hear that. I don't even think it's loud enough for me, so I guess I just don't understand the world of the hearing. So, I brought myself a light timer and kept the volume sort of down, not by much, but hey I have to get up and go to work. Pretty soon though, I'll be working from home and I am looking forward to that. Being in the office for 2 days a week is cool with me. I just ordered a 2nd phone line today. I can't dsl, because my computer needs a network card. I have no clue as to how to put it in. I have an old dog computer. I have the kind where I have to take apart the CPU section. So, I'll have to see. Ruth Smitycrochet@... Smitycrochet@... Ruth.@...

Guest guest
my daily radio station is what i lovingly refer to as 'a snooty classical station' [wqxr fm - the nytimes station] and i must admit that, altho i've certainly sat thru a number of major rock concerts, i too have a problem w volume... i lissen to lots en lotsa drumming tapes and 'meditational' music but... my first love is opera... yeh... i'll admit it... thing is, i used to spend lotsa time w my beloved little eyetalian Nona (grandmother for yall non-eyetalians) and the ONLY thing she would lissen to was italian opera... in fact, we used to go to the old met in nyc to watch it... some of my loveliest memories are leaning on her, smelling her violet sachet, listening to some arias on the phonograph... since i am a believer in 'vibrational levels' i sometimes wonder if it isn't the sounds but the energy of certain music that triggers some kinda hormonal shifts in our bodies... i find that, if i play rock at a low volume, it is not bothersome... in fact, led zep's 'physical graffiti' is a favorite as is miles davis and jean-luc ponty... if i keep the volume down, it's all good... i also attend our local summer jazz concerts and, as long as i stay back from the stage, i'm good... scientifically, those sound vibes dissipate over distance so praps that's a clue to survival... Winter, musing... Re: to Jana Wow, you really do have sharp ears. I can't hear any of that stuff. I heard a cat meow for the first time last week. I was saying that wow, I never heard a cat meow before and the girl just looked at me and I can't understand why she looked at me like that. Like hello? Not everyone all has the same hearing. I have new hearing aids, and boy do I hear a lot more sounds. Alot of them, I prefer not to hear, but I do have the lovely choice of turning my hearing aids off, when these sounds become too annoying for me. When I do have them on, there are many sounds that I am not accustomed too. I guess this is what people hear in the hearing world. I know, I will never understand it. Ruth Smitycrochet@...
