Guest guest
We are working on skin integrity standing orders and have a difference of opinion with our dept director (not an RD, but going to school for that). He found an article from Wound Care Canada recommending up to 40 and 40+ cal/Kg for Severe wounds/ Stage IV Pressure ulcers and Burns. Are you guys going up to 40 and 40+ calories? Also while we are at it, what recommendations are you using for protien? And are there any new or different recommendations for Vit C, Zinc, Multivitamins? Thanks, Holly Moler-Krohne RD -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://link.mail2web.com/mail2web

Guest guest
If you have access to ADA's Nutrition Care Manual, it has information on what is recommended for people with pressure ulcers. The NCM suggests ~30 cals/kg or per individual basis for people w/ pressure ulcers. >>> pbolling@... 3/24/2008 12:24:05 PM >>> I recommend references by Litchford, PhD, RD for the latest in nutritional approaches for treating skin integrity issues. http://www.casesoftware.com/ At this link click on Professional Reference Books to see books and e-books.
