Hi!

I am finding that I feel like I actually have a pretty supportive

doctor. It

is kind of weird though. His name is Dr. son, and he has a relaxed

manner about him. Basically any med that I ask about, he will research and

then if it sounds like a good idea, I can have it. His nurse has fibromyalgia

also and I think that helps his understanding.

I had been prescribed Celebrex by a former doctor (June 2000) and I

was put on EffexorXR by the same doctor, after trying Prozac, Celexa, and

Paxil. I changed doctors in 2001, and he added Amitryptiline due to sleep

problems in 2002. In March 2003, I came in and said, that the Celebrex was

not doing the job and how about Ultram, he suggested the generic, Tramadol,

and put me on it and I dropped the Celebrex. I am trying to hold off getting

put on anything stronger because I am concerned about side effects. I ice a

lot, soak in the warm tub, stretch, use Ben Gay and Aspercreme, think good

thoughts....ect...

People are starting to come up to me and talk to me about fibromyalgia

due to my article. I am getting mail about different treatments. I got a

packet

from a lady who said, after going on a sugar free and yeast free diet, she is

much improved. I am considering starting a support group locally for this. I

have a good friend and neighbor who is a minister and I am sure he would

give us meeting space.

I just turned 54 yesterday...wow time flies, and I still have a 13 year

old..She is a sweety and will get things for me when I am in a flare. We have

rainy weather today and it is not helping me with pain levels. Everyone have

a great day, and I am so honored to be one of the new moderators. Penny
