Guest guest
I came across this group and it sounded interesting. Some looking for advice and some giving it. Most dealing with things that I have experienced and some worse than I am. I think I got chronic fatigue after I had thyroid cancer in 1981. In 1988 I had breast cancer after that and reconstruction, I started with pain between my shoulder blades etc. I was diagnosed in 1997 partially due to an article I had read. I do have fibro, IB, myafacial pain, TMJ, allergies etc. I am 65, do work part time, but have no energy to do much else.
Guest guest
Hi and welcome hon... Introduction I came across this group and it sounded interesting. Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry to hear that your wife's Fibro has been progressing. My reply has to do with MSM. It's a very good supplement in my opinion, in healing the body. First off, it's known for helping to detox the body at a cellular level. What it does is open up the cells so that the toxins can be flushed out. It also works on repairing damage, such as to the tissues, and it relieves pain and inflammation. It's a supplement that's found naturally in foods, but it's destroyed with minimal processing, so it's hard to get enough in the typical daily diet. The recommended daily dosage is 2000mg a day, split in 2 doses, but you should start at 1000mg a day and work your way up to that. This is primarily to ease the detox effects that you will probably have. It can take anywhere from 2 to 21 days to start seeing the benefits from it, and it's best taken with a high quality form of Vitamin C, as it acts as an enhancer. Personally, I take high grade powdered Lignisul MSM, which I've found to be a lot better than the capsules you can buy most anywhere. Also, has your wife tried supplementing Magnesium and Malic Acid? I just started on that over this past weekend, and I'm already starting to notice a difference in my pain levels, muscle spasms and tightness, and sleep quality. I don't go much over the RDA for magnesium, but take the malic acid 3 times a day. The next supplement I'm adding is NADH for energy. I've done a lot of reading myself, and have seen some things about people with Fibro having a higher rate of systemic candida, so I take Olive Leaf Extract, a homeopathic anti-fungal, at a rate of one month on, one month off, to keep it at bay, as well as Acidophilus to keep my intestinal tract normalized. I've tried or read about a lot of treatment options too, even the " guai " therapy. For me, the jury is still out on that one! I have seen really inconsistent reports on that one. Some swear it works, while others say " no way " . I guess it's just a matter of whether you are willing to go through it, and are willing to take a defeat if it doesn't work. Anyway, if you (or your wife) would like to talk more about alternative treatment options, please feel free to contact me off forum. I'm just heading back down that path myself. Take care! All my best, Jen
