Rash from knee brace?

Here is the knee brace that I've recently (in July) started using:

http://www.ankleshop.com/proddetail.asp?prod=3333

This evening after work, when changing out of my work clothes, I've

noticed that I've got a rash above and below my knee, where the wrap

around parts of the brace makes skin contact. Does anybody have any

suggestions for minimizing the possibility of a future breakout...any

kind of sleeve I might wear under the brace?

At this point, I guess I really do need to get me another appointment

with my GP at the VA medical center, so I can address my orthopedic

needs that have popped up (that I've become aware of being a problem)

since my checkup earlier this month. I especially need to start

pushing to get my knee re-evaluated, and determine if my chronic ankle

sprain has been/started to affect my knee (2/3 right medial

meniscetomy, September 2002...inversion right ankle sprain, September

2003). This especially from recently finding out that it's likely I've

developed foot drop/drop foot, either from the knee injury, the ankle

injury or both.

I'd hate to stop using my knee brace, although I likely need an

arthritis knee brace, but my only other alternative is to Ace wrap my

leg where the brace will hit. I'll be on my days off Friday through

Monday (possibly Tuesday as well), so I should be able to get away

without it, on those days.

Matt
