My answer is NO.

I think others would have been leaving, myself included. The

discussions were getting out of hand and were making me uncomfortable

and very worried about some. I strongly believe in God. I have so-so

views on politics, and I have mixed feelings about suicide. I feel

that your rules posted for the group were more than fair and

definitely welcome.

I think you will get a lot of answers similar to mine.

Keep up the good (but difficult) work.

Always remember Dash, that even if things cant be discussed on the

group. Sometimes a one on one setting is best. If you feel the need

to talk to someone please feel free at any time to reach out. There

are many of us that are willing to talk

negative begins it is hard to stop. I have always tried to " fix " the

problem or avoid it. In this case, I for one felt very helpless,

and concerned for the one person. I don't know what is right or

wrong as for what can be discussed on list. I have not posted about

it til now, remaining quiet as not to add to the trouble on list.

outlaw people to express their despair .... perhaps someone (not me)

should have a support group for that discussion... but that is

probably a fancy fantasy of mine...

dear roberta,

i agree w/you but in a totally different way. my religion isn't

christian (no i'm not a satan worshiper, just not christian), but i

still believe in god. but, my religion is my business and so are my

political views. this is a discussion board for fibro, not who i

vote for or how i pray to god! the suicide comments should have been

directed to a suicide hotline. what if it were discussed wrong and

somebody ended up taking their life? we would feel responsible and

it's not our place b/c we aren't trained suicide councelors. i

understand what the person was going thru. but nobody here could

really help her. i just hope thru other channels, like a suicide

hotline, her pcychotherapist or shrink to avoid having to do take

her own life. but, if a person has to, most times they will no

matter what anybody says.

so i agree w/you and vicki!
