Guest guest
Jan, I live in Stockon - which is in Central CA = probably in the very middle of the state. I have been off work since October 2003 - due to health - and my LTD insurance has not kicked in, so there is no money for neutering, etc. I am working with the vet and others to get help to keep my little community " kitten free " . The leader of the community is " Button " as in 'cute as'- a Grey and white long haired Maine Coon cat (4 white paws)- next comes Hisser - a very confused solid grey cat with huge yellow eyes- We call her Hisser because she will rub against your leg and purr and hiss at the same time- Then Bandit - a black and white who looks like she is wearing a mask-she is the baby and Button always takes care of her-Then Fuzzy & Fuzzy - twins-mink colored stripped long haired -one is very friendly - one very stand off - Then comes 'Sweety' a very shy soft grey stripped long haired - All Females!!!!! Please pray that the vet will help with the costs. We have just acquired Leo - a solid black male - He is starting to trust me and allow me to get close to him. He has a sore on his head from fighting - and we are trying to get him help. My husband claims to no care about the outside kitties, but he just bought them a " cat house " to live in, and always brings home special food for them. We both sit on the back porch and watch the antics of the cat city - playing with each other, pieces of fluff, etc. Hope I didn't talk too long about my babies. Meow to you with love, Carol M. in CA
Guest guest
Carol: Just today in our newspaper the San Diego Union Tribune, I read an article about the feral cat association having a free clinic yesterday where they neutered over 500 feral cats. I had the impression that this feral cat association is all over and that the free neutering is an on going thing. Volunteers, Vets, techs, and clinics donate all their time and materials for free. Unfortunately, I have already thrown the paper out but will see what I can do to find the article on line and send the info to you or better yet I will try to see if I can contact them direct by calling my vet and see if they have a number for them. My vet is usually right there with projects such as these. I will get get back to you on this as soon as I can. Jan in San Diego.
