Guest guest
I take Mircette as my HRT. I remember the time I ran out of Mircette, because it was the weekend, and how much trouble I had with sweating, and hot flashes. Medicap Pharmacy wanted to substitute a generic version of HRT for the Mircette. I was on the generic for a month. I had nothing but trouble from the generic stuff, break through bleeding like there was no tomorrow, and MIGRAINES every day. I got the NPN to say the Mircette was medically necessary. I'm back on the Mircette. I orginally went on Mircette because of the menstrual migraines I expereinced. I gave my friend the Black Cohosh Tea I had bought to try. I can't try it while on HRT. She isn't on HRT, so she can see if it works for her. I thought about growing Black Cohosh in my medicinal herb garden. We have had some nice rain in the Virginia Highlands. My radishes seedlings are up. My strawberry plants have blossums. My brocholli plants look good. I have a new screen top on my " cat-nip lock box. " Earlier, the neighboorhood cats had destroyed the top, and obliterated my catnip plant. Catnip, ladies, is a powerful sleep inducer. While it makes cats " stoned " it gets you to sleep. I have a herb and lettuce box, all fenced in. The cats had messed up some of my lettuce along with my Catnip.-Imagine what choice cuss words I had for those cats! What you said about your knots in your upper back reminded me of the time last Oct when Gretched at AMC PT asked me if my neck hurt. I said no, but she pushed on some triggers in my upper back and neck. As it turned out, I had some sorness in my neck muscles. The pain got started big time. Then it " spread. " Just could not stand it. The pain was so bad, that I retreated to bed. Horrible to get it started like that. I wish I had remembered the Arnica. Guest guest
I had not heard of Cenestin, but here are some web sites. http://www.fda.gov/cder/news/cenestin/ http://www.cenestin.com/ If you're in Selma Va. I'm just down the road. I don't feel too hot today, much. Had a weather migraine. I'm just too 'dufas' to drive a couple of miles to Food Lion. I'll have to make do with range raised eggs until I feel well enough to drive. My complaint about FMS (besides all the other complaints) is, when I get up I feel 3 thousand years dead. Or I've slept for hours, 12 sometimes, and still feel dead. I'll probably have to take a nap, again today. I feel pretty tired. > I forgot about the catnip. I used to steep it in with tea. I gotta remember to find some. Not able to grow it right now. I'm kind of in the middle of a flareup/breakdown. Usually I have a period of " remision " . this one has lasted thru the winter and is not letting up. I'm in Virginia too. Raining like the devil right now. My ducks seem to love it. Makes me achy all over. I'm taking 1.25 mg of cenestin now.
Guest guest
dear savonna, i'm on premarin and have been for 7yrs, ever since my radical hysterectomy. i still have break thru hot flashes. but not as bad as w/o the hormones. last summer i ran out of hormones and for some reason lloyd convinced me to try to go w/o them b/c they are made of pregnant horse urine of course. so i went on black cohosh for a while. it worked for about 2wks, then stopped completely (it had soy in it). i got so i was having hot flashes once an hour for 24hrs. it was awful. then if lloyd came anywhere near me i would get a hot flash b/c he is very hot blooded. sleeping next to him was horrendous and i was working at the time too. so i went back on my premarin. but w/money tight i decided to try another black cohosh remedy some online company sent me to try awhile ago and i never did. so far it works. i take 1 pill in the morning (when i remember) and 1 pill at night (i always remember the night one), they are 20mg each. so far i only get a couple of flashes at bedtime or waking up flashy and need to run to the bathroom. but not as bad as last year. if it works i will keep it up. but i am interested in the other one. i used another steriod version of premarin but it made me bloat so bad i couldn't stand it and i dumped it immediately. i cant remember the name. but it wasn't the one that was mentioned in this group. anyway, i can always go back to the premarin. but, i'll see how the hot flashes are for now. the reason your mom might not have needed them is b/c years ago they didn't give out hormones. now they automatically do. maybe if you don't get them right after the operation your body will adjust or she might have been closer to her time of change. i'm only 44 and my body isn't ready to go thru the change so it will fuss if i take away what my biological clock thinks im supposed to have. hell, i know my clock aint broke yet, b/c when i met lloyd again after 19yrs and he proposed to me, i suddenly wanted to have his baby. go fig. i didn't need a baby and it probably would have killed me if i could. but i wanted it none the less (he even kind of wanted one. lol). so depending on how old you are and depending on your body clock, your body probably just isnt ready to let go. i didn't start my periods until i was almost 16. my mother and auntie both went thru the change in their early to mid 50s. so i probably wont be able to totally go off until i'm in my mid 50's. my best friend started really young. she just went thru the change and we are the same age. so each person is different. hope you feel better soon, nancy ps. about the catnip, is that the same kind you give cats? b/c i got a whole bowl full. my cats love it and they get stoned often. if i thought it would help me sleep i would brew up some. > Trying to recoup from a concert.
