Guest guest Posted August 15, 2001 Report Share Posted August 15, 2001 Group, I need some insight. I run acute care, transitional care, OP, HH and contract therapies at our hospital. We also have an IP rehab that is staffed by our employees, but managed by a contract company. My question is this: Our DON has requested that we provide weekend coverage for acute problem swallowing patients and coverage for the Transitional Care unit. I've only got two SLP's their getting really burned out on the WE's. Do others cover their Transitional Care Units (Subacute) and acute care on Weekends?? If so, why?
