Guest guest
Hi Sistah and Fella listers ~ A couple or several years ago I remember saying to my husband on the ice when we were skating " I wonder if I am getting MS . . . ? " I could tell that I was having trouble with minute muscle control. And I felt a strangely afraid as I didn't feel stable as usual. Not to mention I never felt right and my hand and feet were always bothering me. No doctor ever listened to my symptoms of bone crushing fatigue and my hands and feet hurting so much. That has gone on for a few years and now my hands and feet are still burning and throbbing, but it is somewhat less. My shoulders still ache but it is somewhat less. But what I have found most remarkable is the better motor skill control I have on the ice today for the first time; I noticed that I feel better. I didn't intend to walk more than a half hour yesterday. I went to a reservoir which for years took me about 30 or 45 minutes to jog slowly around . . . but there ae several reservoirs and I get the times mixed up because time really never mattered to me befoe. There was a lot of snow and ice to negotiate as these trails are not maintained really. Once you get started around it of course you have to finish the circle. Now it ended up taking my hubby nd I an hour and a half. My feet and shoulders were pretty painful toward the last third. But I had no choice but to finish. I was concerned when I went to the rink today that my muscles would be extra tired and sore and I would feel extra tired. Strangely enough I did not have the negative reaction that I would a coupel of months ago from the over-exersion. I swear it is the change in supplements. It has to be the Fibro Malic Acid/Magn. mix along with the SAMe. (bear in mind that I have eliminated absolutely anything from my diet which I should not eat including coffee, tea, etc.) but I am positive the improvements came because I made a big change in my supplements. I have had these problems for years. A couple of Naturopaths suggested Magnesium but I never could find one that would agree with me and would hve to quite after a week or two due to watery diarreah. This brand didn't do that. I am going to type of all of what I take for anyone who is interested somedady, it will just take a huge amount of time, and I need a chunk of it. Two books which might be a good place to start are: **Prescriptions for Herbal Healing byt Phyllis A. Balch and **Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing along with the **Eat Right for Your Type Enclopedia by D'Adamo (his latest book). Also, anyone who has time to puruse the Alterative Healing section in your local bookstores, what was helpful for me was to go through all of the books I could find and read the section of FM in the store. There is a bit of overlap between the books as certain supplements are always mentioned. --- I got a tape from the man who owns the Herbal Remedies list and he gives a free tape and also a free consultation to anyone who will listen to his free tape. What a deal! How can anyone go wrong with that? So I am listening to his tape and I am going to get my free consultation. Personally I am a bit ahead of his tape, but it is meant as an introduction to people who are not familiary with Naturopathy. I just wanted to report that I am doing much better than I ever could have exepcted two weeks ago. Hope some of this is helpful for others. cheers, Cat ^. .^ ~ " Optimism is magic! Guest guest
Hi Cat, I wonder if that is a common question. I used to wonder if I had MS or Lupus. I don't know that I don't though so I guess it's possible. I've been doing some vitamins, minerals, herbal treatments and diet changes that seem to help. I've lost a lot of weight and that helps me have more energy. I still can't run a marathon, but I'm doing better than I was, relatively speaking. Thanks for the recommendations of those books. I will definitely check them out. Good luck with your accupuncture on Friday. Keep shining! Star

Hope you continue to get better. >Thanks for the recommendations of those books. I will definitely >check them out. You can look through them in the store to see whether they are something which you might want. I found it very helpful to look up FM in every book in the alternative section of the bookstore. >Good luck with your accupuncture on Friday. Thanks ! His fees are higher than most around here, so I hope he is worth it. But I talked to a number in person on the phone first this time and know that he does both pulse testing, tongue analysis, and can mix and match his own herbs. So we'll see about his bedside manner. ;-) Just kidding. I will say that I have never encountered a Chinese practioner anywhere are rude and arrogant as many doctors I have been too. Thanks for the well wishes. I know you have been having a rough interval, please let us know how you are ! Cheers, Cat ^. .^ ~ " Optimism is magic!
