Joyce.. I loved Xylitol before low oxalate diet came into our lives

and I had to eliminate it-and with really significant improvements

too I might add. Darn it! But Dr. JM recommends Xylitol and it has

other health benefits too. Like I mentioned in another post on LOD

list, we use sugar now which I know doesn't work for most of the

kids but with a healed gut my son seems to do fine with it and it

was the only thing besides the xylitol that I felt safe with. Not

saying other things are not OK to use but I just had more of comfort

level with xylitol. We use very little sweetener of any kind these

days so the regular sugar works great at this point in time. We were

sugar free for the whole time however that Dr. JM was treating

Slater and for a long time afterwards. I'd still be using xylitol

for everything if it weren't for oxalate issues too btw.
