Guest guest
Hey Beth, I have tried the Blending Base from www.essentialwholesale.com. It says to use it 1 to 1 with the EO, but I'm using FOs, and each one seems to require a different ratio. You just have to play with it. Here's the interesting thing, though. I don't know what's in it. There's no INCI or ingredient list online, or on the bottle. I emailed them for it, and haven't ever heard back. Sherry Boester Wildwood BodyWorks > Has anyone tried the bases from Essential Wholesale and from Rain > Shadow Labs. If I lived closer to Essential I could pick it up,alas! Guest guest
Sherry, They have fragrance base on line with an emulsifier. the ingredient list is up, Aqua (Water), Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Salix nigra (Black Willow Bark), Polysorbate 20, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate & You mix in your own EO or FO to scent. Is this what you were using? Is it clear? Polysorbate works well but it aggravates me that sometime it takes a ton to get a clear solution. I am trying to get a good after feel. I tried Angie's The Herbarie dimethicone copolyol ester but it can be tricky to use ....the feel is nice. Perfect for a cloudy or opaque bottle. Do you use germall plus optiphen? I need a preservative and a degunk-algae remover don't I? Beth eyecon@... > > > Has anyone tried the bases from Essential Wholesale and from Rain > > Shadow Labs. Guest guest
Hi Beth, There is a secret to using Polysorbate 20 - First make the mix of 50:50 polysorbate 20 to oil and then heat the water to blood temperature - or around 98 to 100degrees F. Stir the warmed water (I suggest distilled) vigourously, and add the oil mixture drop by drop until you get the scent level you require. It will be crystal clear.
