Guest guest
Hi Jeanette, If you will use your Google with " lotion formulary INCI " in the search string, you'll find a number of hits for formulas. The problem that you may encounter, is that many of the formulations provided as examples, often require ingredients not available currently to home crafters. www.happi.com comes to mind. Cosmetic ingredient suppliers/manufacturers often make available sample formulations online, including Croda, Uniqema, etc. A great starting place to find formulating information as well as the ingredients to create them is at Angie's " The Herbarie " : www.theherbarie.com (check out the Herbarie Formulary under " Emulsions " ). Many of the lotion and cream formulas use both shea and jojoba as the primary emollients (must be Angie's favorites, too, hmm?). I'm especially fond of creams and lotions made from formulas that use " Natramulse " as the primary self emulsifier. I think it is very important to that you do your homework, and find out as much as you can about cosmetic ingredient and it's purpose/function in an application (emulsifier, humectant, moisturizer, film former, emollient, etc.). There are also a number of other list members that resell of cosmetic and soap making ingredients and provide excellent information. If I can be of further assistance, please contact me directly. I may be able to help you adjust a formula to fit ingredients that you may already have on hand. Happy formulating! Pam Lotion formulation? Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone might be able to help me formulate a creamy shea butter and jojoba lotion. I've never done this before and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks so much!!!!!!
Guest guest
> I was >wondering what qualifications you have to have to get >ingredients that the home crafter can't get. There are many cosmetic raw materials available to homecrafters through the Internet. All you need is money. Many of these sites have formulas and recipes. Go with caution, however, because many of the recipes are not accurate and may cause harm. You can always check here first. Some of these companies are very reputable, honest and knowledgeable. Others are not. Caveat emptor. Some will misrepresent the products they sell in order to make a sale. Guest guest
Hi Jeanette, Not sure what happened, but here is a link to the result for google using " lotion formulary INCI " http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & lr= & ie=UTF-8 & q=lotion+formulary+inci broaden search to " lotion formulary " or " formulary inci " for even more results. Just avoid using the word " recipe " in the search string. Formulas are based on weight/mass with ingredients listed as a percent of the total weight/mass. An individual can certaninly purchase from a big company, but be prepared to purchase as a 55 gal drums for $1000 plus. If there is something in particular that you REALLY want, visit with some of the resellers tha Maurcie mentioned and make your case.....you might be able to convince them to stock it! Happy to help, Pam
