Sorry about those knees. I realy do know how frustrating and dissappointing it can feel when the body can't checks the mind has written. What about YOUR shoes. Are they up to specs? Do you wear good insoles? Are you warminf up adequately? Please don't mess up your knees permanently, ok? Be smart! Kelley

Guest guest
WAH!!!!!! That's me having a pity party. *sobs into lace hankie* My knees were killing me last night... I ran about 3 steps last night after my warmup and felt like I was going to explode at the kneecaps. So I immediately stopped, decided I was going to do my killer-hiking program instead and couldn't even do that. Stop. Move to upright bike where knees felt just dandy. :( This happened to me the last time I started running again. Maybe I tried to do too much too fast. Anyway, I called the doc and asked for a scrip for Naproxen (anti-inflammatory) which is what I needed the last time this happened. Luckily, it only took one dose and I was back to normal. I hate pills. Anyway, enough about me, on to you. Maybe you should stick with the 2 minute intervals for a week or so. It sounds like it might have been just from fatigue, but I dunno. That was a pretty ambitious plan of yours, that increase in time. I can't believe you made it through the 1st few intervals! So pat yourself on the back for that and move on from here chickadee. We will become running divas, come he** or high water! Jen B. > Hi Jen, > > Today was a bit dissappointing. Guest guest
Well my shoes are fine... I am really picky about my running shoes. And I am anal about keeping them ONLY for running. I don't wear them anywher but the gym on the days I plan to run (which means they are nice and clean, LOL). Yep, I will be careful about keeping the ole knees healthy. My doc called me back and said to take Aleve, that it's the same stuff as Naproxen. I will pick some up and see if that fixes them up. Once they are feeling better I will try again and just keep to the same workout for a week or two. I will just have to be content with working up to it more slowly. it is just frustrating. *grr* Jen B. > back at ya! Sorry about those knees.
