I'm getting caught up on e-mails so maybe this has already been said.Maybe it gets worse before it gets better.Mine started out with one or two triggers. Now I have TONS.I'm 24.. it will be YEARS before my hearing starts to go. When it does, maybe I will get some relief. But the period in between, more triggers are added and it feels like it is getting worse until that point when you start to lose your hearing and it gets better.†.:. You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory. And you are receiving the goal of your faith -- the salvation of your souls. -1 1:8-9 (NCV)> To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Sat, 5 Feb 2011 20:42:27 +0000> Subject: Re: Better with age? I am 52 now and although I have matured and am in better control of myself, the number and severity of triggers has gotten worse. I'm 56 and my 4S has certainly not got better over the years. The number of

triggers has increased gradually. A friend of mine who has 4S even has hearing

aids. Sure, there are lots of triggers she doesn't hear, but the ones she can

hear do bother her a lot. And I guess there are always the visual triggers...

For me, 4S is not a matter of super hearing. I am sure other people can hear the

same sounds that I can. They can probably even hear more sounds than I can. It

is just that I react to the sounds, and other people are not bothered at all by

them.

I even asked a colleague about the ring tone on a phone in the office which was

driving me crazy. Although my colleague sat nearer to the phone than I do, she

said she could hear the phone but it didn't bother her.

Seems like most people with 4S have super hearing abilities and actually this is

one of the reasons

Here is one site that you might find something you like. I am still looking for others. They are in the states. You may try googleing on your side of the pond. ML

I'm 50 and it has gotten worse over the years, as well. If age is an indicator of decreased hearing ability, I think those of us with super-sonic hearing may never experience it or will have to wait until we're in our 90s for it to happen.Plus in my case I had about huge gap of only on person who made only 2 trigger sounds effect starting at 8, then a huge jump to 25 when gum cracking and pen clicking from others started to bother me. Each year after that more and more trigger sounds were added to the list. How does one explain that?> >> . . . > > I do not know if this unit will have a positive effect on you with the 4S. Hi Shirl,

It is always nice to find a kindred spirit that you can share joys and sorrows. I feel that with you. We have both suffered in the same way and afraid to admit it to others. I think that is common with most 4S sufferers.

I have always been an anxious person. Even as a child. Easily startled by noises and somewhat fearful of the world. I have gotten much better though as I have gotten older. Lots of intense exercise, very healthy diet( no processed food or meat), positive thinking, spiritual growth and religious faith, Scientology courses and other services , Primal Therapy and the list goes on. They have all made me a happier, more relaxed self-assured person. Exercise is probably the biggest help with anxiety. Oh and no alcohol, which gave temporary relief, but in the end made things worse. It ran in my family and I think my mothers drinking during pregnancy may have contributed to the problem, but I could be wrong about that one.

If you want, you can e-mail me at my personal e-mail address if you want to just chat without getting so detailed on this site. I am at michael.lawrence57@....

Hang in here.
