Guest guest
Isn't DMSO banned from skin use in " true " cosmetics? Or is it just not in pharmaceuticals? Kathy Arenz I want to know God's thoughts; the rest is details-Albert Einstein Re: Re: Skin Physiology >Which ingredients are truly known to penetrate the epidermis, >and/or assist the skin/body in some way? I do not knowing use raw materials that will penetrate below the Stratum Corneum. I think using a raw material that penetrates below the Stratum Corneum is a dangerous thing. > I hear all kinds of >anecdotal stories about emu oil carrying actives into the skin, and >similar things, but what ingredients are really useful? I've heard many claims but little or no substantiation. Emu Oil would probably be banned from cosmetics if anyone could prove that it penetrated below the Stratum Corneum. > For example, >do vitamins absorb into the skin? Plant actives? Other chemicals? Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) penetrates into the blood stream in a matter of minutes. Maurice -------------------------------------------------------- Maurice O. Waaaay back in the old days when I worked as a vet tech while going to college, we were required to use DMSO also. I am sorry to say we applied it (as a carrier for medication) barehanded to doggies with hip problems, etc. As Maurice said, it's very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, I remember that I could taste it very soon after it was applied. So, we were " treating " ourselves as well as the doggies Angie The Herbarie Natural Source Ingredients for Toiletries & Cosmetics http://www.theherbarie.com
