Guest guest Posted November 28, 2005 Report Share Posted November 28, 2005 Hello everyone, I have been lurking around these boards for the past week reading the great insight many of you offer. I made sure to take that insight and turn it into good use. Over a year ago I attempted to do this challenge but never truely went forward with it. I did have a short spurt but nothing I would call a " challenge. I guess my motivation this time is because of my kids, wife(who also began the challege today) and my depression about not being in good physical shape. It's not because of looks, I don't feel ugly but I do feel tired and weak. Actually it seems I dont ever have any energy. I used to be very physically active but in the past 5 years or so I have come to what I like to think of as a lazy person. I don't watch what I eat and I hardly ever exercise. I have two young kids and its impossible for me to keep up with them. I almost feel I am neglecting them at times. Another thing that worries me is the heatlh effects of bad nutrition and lack of exercise. I'm a paramedic and I get see the results of a unhealthy lifestyle everyday. Don't get me wrong healthy people get ill also but no where near do they share the risks unhealthy people have. Anyways, I did my first upperbody workout and let me say I feel it. Not sure if I should but I do. I definently have to adjust some of the weights I used but overall I think I got a great workout. My nutrition is also online today. I am only concerned about the amount of sodium it looks like I will intake in a day. It seems well above the 1,200mg recommended. Perhaps I can find a way to cut it back some by " tweaking " the recipes. Well, just wanted to introduce myself and hope to provide some inspiration and receive some from all of you.
