Guest guest
Hi Jami - I have a Border Collie too! Aren't they tremendous dogs? I always say that my girl Brady doesn't want to " play, " she wants a job! If she had thumbs I'm sure she'd be washing the dishes and doing the laundry for me. I'm always amazed at how smart she is. She's constantly thinking. She was a rescue - we picked her up off the side of the road where she'd been dumped as a 10-week-old puppy. She's been the perfect dog ever since, even though she's a house dog (as Jami knows, that's rare for a BC). We used to train and compete in agility before I hurt my back - she loved it and of course was a star! Now I just clicker train silly parlor tricks to keep her brain busy - she's got about three dozen down now. One of her favorite brain games is " go seek. " I'll show her a specific toy, then hide it somewhere in the house, and she'll spend as long as it takes looking for it - she never gives up until she finds it and brings it back to me. I also get a kick out of how she herds people when we have a party - she does it so subtly no one realizes it's happening until they're all standing in a very small group in the middle of one room, with her circling the group. I call it " BC mind control. " I laughed when I saw that you also have a sheep. Did you get it as a " toy " for your BCs? I wish I had room for one (or ten!) OK, enough babble about my dog. I'll gush on about my bird and my cat at a later date! <gg> My fur/feathered kids ( " fids " ) keep me getting up every day, and they make me laugh all the time. They're the best treatment for chronic pain I've ever found. Cheryl in AZ
