Guest guest
As an aside, you might be amused at how few major manufacturers follow FDA labeling guidelines -- go into any health food store and read the labels of lotions. I would say more than half do not use INCI names for the ingredients. I do a lot of craft fairs and I am constantly seeing home crafters who do not label properly, and most of them think I am trying to get them out of business when I suggest to them that they might want to visit the FDA website to see how they should be labeling! Unfortunately, I think there is a huge accident waiting to happen at crafts fairs/farmers markets, and when someone is majorly injured and can trace it back to a home crafter, the underlying business or municipality will be liable and that will be the end for many of us cottage businesses. I therefore try very hard to distinguish myself in my product, my packaging and my knowledge. Gillian

Everyone has a different perspective on what a major manufacturer is. I would not expect major manufacturers of personal care products to be found in a health food store. To me a major manufacturer is P & G and Unilever. >Unfortunately, I think there is a huge accident waiting to happen at >crafts fairs/farmers markets, and when someone is majorly injured and >can trace it back to a home crafter, the underlying business or >municipality will be liable and that will be the end for many of us >cottage businesses. > I therefore try very hard to distinguish myself in >my product, my packaging and my knowledge. Absolutely! And the major manufacturers will be in favor of that. Maurice -------------------------------------------------------- Maurice O.
