Guest guest
When did they start requiring a DT booster at age 10?!? I will NEVER administer another dangerous vaccine (all vaccines are dangerous: with and without thimerosal) to my children again. That goes for my NT college girl too. We flatly declined the meningitis vaccine with a pleasant smile. I'm sure you would never consider injecting an autistic child with a vaccine as you must be aware of these dangers. Religious exemption is the way to go. Does anyone know if the Diphtheria-Tetanus booster, given at age 10, is available Thimeresol-free? If so,how do you get it if your pediatrician does not have it? We declined the injection at my child's last check-up after the doctor checked the vials and all had the Thimeresol in them. What happens when my child enters middle school and I need to show proof of immunization and don't have the updated shots--will I need to get a waiver ? I was under the impression that this injection(D-T) was one of the ones that were now available mercury-free. Please respond if you know the answer to this. Guest guest
I didn't want to take any chances with these shots. When my daughter entered middle school, we went to the health department and got an exemption signed, no questions asked. It is considered a religious exemption.
