Guest guest
I have conversed with you on the gf/cf message board about how wonderful my son had been doing on the zyme and pep. Well everything was going along great untill Wed. morning of this week. we had 14 days of excellent progress on the enzymes and then whammo! back are the old nasty behaviors. What i'm wondering is this...Tues. evening we carved pumpkins and roasted the seeds. Well after my sons dinner enzymes wore off we had a pumpkin seed feast and I didn't think anything of it untill he woke up on wed morning with the same old behavior problems that we had B-4 starting the enzymes. My son cant tolerate sesamie seeds, sunflower seeds or flax oil so I asked around and came up with a consensus that he was having a reaction to the pumpkin seeds.(even had a small rash on his butt) My question for you is could this be a delayed reaction to the enzymes? or do you agree that it is probably still from the seeds. Is there ever a happy period followed by a die off reaction on the enzymes that you have heard of?? I'm trying to determine what upset our wonderful and steady applecart and was hoping to get some insight. Thanks ahead of time for your help. Guest guest
Patti, I do think it could be the pumpkin seeds. I found out a few weeks after starting enzymes that they did not work on poppy seeds. My son had a poppy seed bagel and got really hyper. The enzymes also do not help him with peanuts. I don't know if pumpkin seeds are highly phenolic, but if they are, the enzymes may only help a little. My son can tolerate highly phenolic foods a little better with enzymes, but we find it is best to limit them. I thought the enzymes were " wearing off " after a few weeks, but finally realized what was really happening was I added back phenolic foods like crazy and my son could not tolerate that amount, even with enzymes. I would try to keep his diet as it has typically been while you make sure he is not reacting to the enzymes, just to be safe, but it sure sounds like the pumpkin seeds. Let us know how he is in a few days. > I have conversed with you on the gf/cf message board about how > wonderful my son had been doing on the zyme and pep. Guest guest
In all the reports I have monitored, there is not a single instance of regression after improvement with Peptizyde/Zyme Prime with the exception of Dana and two other moms because of the gluten-celiac reaction. Also, no one has reported that any type of enzymes have helped with peanuts, with other nuts and seeds being a prime problem as well. So it looks like the records support the pumpkin seed idea. Please let us know how he is in a couple days. .
