Guest guest
I only do once per week. Work them just as intensely as any other muscle and then let them rest. It won't do any good to work them more often in my opinion. Fat comes off at different rates on different parts of the body. As your body fat comes down to where you are considered lean, the abs will begin to show some definition and this varies from person to person. I use an exercise ball to do abs. You really have to contract those muscles on each rep and hold for a second. If that isn't enough, add some weight. Guest guest
Once or twice a week is fine. Working abs will do nothing towards reducing the size - in fact, overworking abs can actually cause them to protrude quite a bit. Abs are like any other muscle - why treat them differently? I hear that they are a stabilizer, so recover more quickly - this is true, but every time you are doing a lift like a bench press or squat, your abs are stabilizing this and receiving work. I have worked with DOZENS of people who have obtained abs, both male and female. The overriding factor for their success was sticking with nutrition 100%. I don't even work abs directly anymore, and they stay tight and defined when I am low body fat. I have met people who train them daily and never see results because their nutrition is not in order, and I see others who never train them and have phenomenal abdominal development because they are low body fat. The key to abs is patience, persistence, and consistency. Likness > Hi All, > > I notice from several postings that you all are adding extra abs. Guest guest
You'll see the saying " Abs are made in the kitchen " alot for a reason. Abs are important for core strength, however they are not a muscle that grows to the extent of other muscles like pecs and biceps. They can only get so " big " , and exercising them only twice a week is in the book for a reason. The ONLY way Abs will show on men is to drop bodyfat to 8-10%. For women it's more in the range of 14-16%. Doing 100's of extra crunches does nothing to get rid of fat around the midsection. As been said before, you can't spot-reduce fat. > Hi All, > > I notice from several postings that you all are adding extra abs.
